Main Speaker - Rev. Stafford Carson

Our main conference speaker, the Reverend Stafford Carson (57) has been the minister of First Presbyterian Church, Portadown, Northern Ireland since June 2005.

In February 2009 he was elected to be the next Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, a term he will serve for one year beginning in June 2009 (DV).

He is a graduate of the University of Ulster, Queen's University, Belfast, and Westminster Theological Seminary. Mr Carson served as minister of Kells and Eskylane Presbyterian Churches, Carnmoney Presbyterian Church, and from 2000-05 was Executive Vice President of Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.

He is married to Patricia and they have three children, Sara, Luke, and Ruth.

Their links to CEF go back to 1974 when Stafford met his wife Patricia at the CEF Training Week in Kilkeel - they were both summer missionaries! In 2006, Stafford and Patricia visited our European Headquarters and Stafford ministered to the students at the Kilchzimmer institute. Both Sara and Ruth (daughters) have served as volunteer helpers in the house and kitchen.
We are so glad that Stafford has agreed to be our main speaker at our conference. Please pray that as he opens the Word to us, that God will speak to us all in a mighty way.

[More details on his preaching theme will follow in due course]
